Girls Weekend in Austin, TX

This was my first real trip to Texas, and you guys Austin was the cutest city!! Definitely a spot I can’t wait to go back to. I went with a girlfriend of mine and we brunched, shopped, explored and had amazing craft cocktails.

We stayed downtown at the AT&T Conference Center & Hotel, and it was walkable or a short uber ride to most everything downtown. We found it as a last-minute hotwire deal, but I would recommend staying closer to the river, on either side, anywhere near Congress Ave.

I love finding local coffee shops when I travel, and Austin was full of them! One of the cutest spots was on South Congress and the tiles inside were my favorite… oh and the giant fiddle leaf fig trees 😍

Murals are definitely abundant in Austin, and it was such a fun hunt searching for the popular murals we had seen promoted by bloggers. Most of them were in the downtown area and tucked away on side streets. Some of my favorites are shown below, with directions on where to find them!

This fun mural is on East Riverside Dr, right off of South Congress.

This mural is at the end of South Congress on right past W Mary St. on the side of the building where Birds Barbershop is.

This cute mural is on the side of the Kendra Scott store, on South Congress street.

Brunch is always a favorite on vacation, and hands down my favorite spot was Cafe No Se, on South Congress Ave. The decor was absolutely amazing and has such a boutique feel. and the food was so yummy.

We also had to stop for an afternoon coffee at Jo’s coffee, and take a picture at the popular mural on the side of the South Congress location.

There was tons of shopping on Congress and 2nd, just north of the river, and we also found a cute weekend craft market and more local and unique shops off of South Congress street. I ended up bringing home succulents planted in dinosaurs for my kiddos!

We also found a fun shop, The Impeccable Pig, which we totally through was a bbq place, and then walked up to find the cutest boutique! haha I bought my fun blue dress there, pictured below. I’m a sucker for anything ruffled.

For nights out, drinking & dancing, we found several different spots: We tend to go for more low key and upscale, so fancy cocktails or wine bars are the go to. Our favorite area was on Congress Street and 2nd just north of the river. All of the bars had outdoor seating, and yummy food as well.

We did check out Rainey Street, which is a cute street lined with old homes turned into bars. They all have outdoor patios, and its a fun street to walk from place to place. It had more of a college clubbing vibe on the weekend night we were there, so we didn’t stay in the are long, and left in search of somewhere with an older classier vibe. I think it would have been a great spot for an afternoon happy hour though!

Have you been to Austin? I would love to hear your favorite spots!

xoxo
