A Moody English Study

Chats by the fireplace with an old fashioned in hand, an antique game table for playing mahjong with friends, and a statement bar in the corner for crafting cocktails for their guests…. This moody English study has it all.

This was such a fun and satisfying project to help out with! The client brought me in with a little bit of a vision, and let me completely change the whole space, down to the last little detail.

We pulled in greens and leather, with some wood tones and antiques to ground the space. Toile Thibaut prints shine in a subtle sort of way, and the custom curtains add polish to the space.

The game table is a gorgeous antique from The Grand Millennial, The bar, built ins and 11 foot console table were all custom made, and the wallpaper and lumbar pillows are Thibaut.

Let’s look at where we started…

The custom built in bar is quite possibly my favorite part of the project! With a glossy green base, and a fun botanical wallpaper it makes a statement. Not to mention the gorgeous hardware from modern matter.

In the kitchen, we did a little glow up, to hold them over until a future remodel. I have never been a fan of the two tiered islands, and the barstools were leaving wasted space in the kitchen. We took off the top tiered counter, painted the whole island green, and created a functional banquette space for the whole family. With a custom Sunbrella slipcover, the banquette seating can take a beating, and it's washable when needed. A round pedestal table and chairs finish the space. Room for breakfast, board games, or sipping coffee while looking at their amazing backyard.

The dining room also received a few updates, with new linen curtains, a gallery wall and a new rug
