Style in Japan

The style in Tokyo and Japan as a whole reminded me of Europe. Very classic chic looks with tons of neutrals. Black or navy coats were standard and you saw lots of dresses and skirts.

Several of my must pack items:

My black quilted Burberry trench coat - classic, warm and it matched everything.

A Longchamp tote bag - I used a clutch frequently when I didn't need to carry much around, but the tire folds up in your luggage and takes up no space, and was nice for when I needed something larger and water resistant. A few days in the rain I tossed my clutch in there and had space for my umbrella too.

comfy shoes!

Comfy shoes! I refuse to wear tennis shoes when exploring cities, so I packed my tried and true comfy boots and my favorite pair of ballet flats which I ended up wearing daily at the end of the trip. The Tory Burch Eddie flats are an older style but I highly recommend looking for a pair on poshmark.

I ended up wearing dresses and skirts most days and loved that dressing up is a part of their culture. Even in Kyoto when we were exploring temples, everyone was dressed super stylish!
